Monthly Price:  The amount to be paid to the web a hosting company for hosting your website for one month. This price varies with hosting providers and the features included.

Yearly Domain Cost:  In order to keep your registered domain name, you will need to pay for it each year. Many providers offer a FREE one year domain, followed by a recurring annual domain cost. Other providers may include the domain cost in your monthly hosting plan price. When a registered domain name expires, it will be free for others to purchase

Domain:  A domain name is an easy-to-remember address that can be translated by the Domain Name System (DNS) into a server's IP address. Domain names are hierarchical. A domain's suffix indicates which Top Level Domain (TLD) it belongs to, for example: .com, .gov, .org, .net, or .jp. Recently, Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) added several new TLDs like .biz, .pro., and .museum

Sub Domains:  A subdomain is a domain that is part of a larger domain. For example, www.mail.yournamehere.com is a subdomain of www.yournamehere.com.

FTP Manager:  In order to utilize the power of FTP and achieve fast and easy files transfers over the internet, users need to have two things - an FTP client and an active FTP account. Using the client tool, users will be able to connect their computers to the servers they wish to upload/download files to/from. The FTP account is needed to give users authorized access to the server that they wish to connect to. The administration of FTP accounts is executed through specific FTP manager software.

The two major versions of the protocol are referred to as SSH1 or SSH-1 and SSH2 or SSH-2. SSH networks are used primarily on Linux and Unix based systems to access shell accounts. Hosting Types
Free Hosting:  As the name indicates it is free, and generally advertisement-supported web hosting. This kind of hosting is often limited in features when compared to paid hosting. Shared web hosting service: In this case your website is placed on the same server as many other sites, ranging from a few to hundreds or thousands. All domains may share a common pool of server resources, such as RAM and the CPU.

Shared Hosting:  A shared web hosting service or virtual hosting service or derive host refers to a web hosting service where many websites reside on one web server connected to the Internet. Each site "sits" on its own partition, or section/place on the server, to keep it separate from other sites. This is generally the most economical option for hosting, as many people share the overall cost of server maintenance.

Dedicated Hosting:  A dedicated hosting service, dedicated server, or managed hosting service is a type of Internet hosting in which the client leases an entire server not shared with anyone. This is more flexible than shared hosting, as organizations have full control over the server(s), including choice of operating system, hardware, etc. Server administration can usually be provided by the hosting company as an add-on service. In some cases a dedicated server can offer less overhead and a larger return on investment. Dedicated servers are most often housed in data centers, similar to colocation facilities, providing redundant power sources and HVAC systems. In contrast to colocation, the server hardware is owned by the provider and in some cases they will provide support for your operating system or applications.

VPS Hosting:  Out of all the other types of web hosting, dedicated web hosting is probably the most efficient. It works in such a way that you will gain full control over the server so that you can make changes with the website being hosted whenever you need to. This type of web hosting provides the utmost in reliability and flexibility while maximizing the resources available at the same time. When you decide to go for dedicated web hosting, you can either choose a managed or unmanaged package. Managed dedicated web hosting includes the administrative functions of the provider so that you would not have to maintain the website for yourself. On the other hand, unmanaged dedicated web hosting gives you the freedom to install the security features, update and basically do all the server maintenance for your very own dedicated box.

Windows Web Hosting:  There are a few things that you need to consider when looking for a web hosting provider. First, which operating system will the website be running on? Is it a Windows-based or Linux-based platform? If you want the site to run on a Windows-based platform, then you should look for a provider which offers a Windows web hosting package. The aim of this type of web hosting is to deliver a single-purpose solution for Internet Service Providers or ISP's, website owners or application developers. Windows web hosting provides a website owner with the ability to design a site using the Windows Operating System. By doing so, you can take advantage of technologies like Active Server Pages, COM and the .Net infrastructure applications which all run on Windows-based platforms. This is definitely one powerful web hosting solution that you should take advantage of.

ECommerce Web Hosting:  Out of all the other types of web hosting, dedicated web hosting is probably the most efficient.

EmailHosting:  Among the many options that you have when it comes to web hosting is e-mail hosting. Basically, when choosing a web hosting package, you should make your selection according to your needs and by basing your choice on whether you're building a site for business or personal purposes. E-mail hosting in particular is suitable for website owners who would like to experience a business-class level for e-mail hosting. These days, e-mail is the preferred method of business communication. As such, it would greatly help your company if you will choose an e-mail hosting package that will provide you with top-notch features. A good e-mail hosting package includes Exchange or POP3 mailboxes, free e-mail software, virus and span protection, control panel for your mailbox and mobile accessibility. The last feature is particularly important because it allows you to e-mail your business contacts anywhere, using a computer or a mobile device.

Re seller Web Hosting:  It allows clients to become web hosts themselves. Resellers could function, for individual domains, under any combination of these listed types of hosting, depending on who they are affiliated with as a provider.
